BEACH YOGA RETREAT IN THE BEAUTIFUL SETTINGS OF ZAHORA BEACH, CADIZ.

If we are to live a truly healthy life, then being gentler with ourselves, practising yoga and meditation, reducing stress, eating healthy and organic food and sleeping deeply all have an important part to play.  With a yoga retreat at CASARA WAY (Wellness And Yoga), you will learn to slow down, live fully and enjoy life again, all in the spectacular setting of one of the most stunning beaches in all of southern Spain.  

The retreat combines daily Pranayama classes and Vinyasa classes in the morning with walking tours that explore the beautiful beaches of Zahora, La Breña y Las Marismas del Barbate Natural Park, plus yoga classes in the early evening, evening workshops.

Besides the wonderful sunsets in Zahora, the most spectacular aspect of this beach is the huge reef that shows at low tide and the enormous lagoon that appears when the water is shallow. The sunsets and the scenery make for some of the most breathtaking sights in all of southern Spain.

La Breña y Marismas del Barbate Natural Park is the second largest coastal reserve in Andalusia. The shore is lined by towering cliffs which are home to teeming colonies of herring gulls and egrets. Thick stands of stone pine provide shade for a stunning variety of Mediterranean wildflowers. Impressive cliffs fall over a hundred metres into the Atlantic Ocean. This is one of the most environmentally diverse and best-preserved parts of the Andalusian coast.

Our groups are small, only 12 participants, which allows personalized guide and instruction.

Begin where you are! 

Prior experience with Yoga, Meditation and Mindful Eating isn’t necessary. This retreat is appropriate for all levels of yoga practitioners – from those who are early in their practice of yoga to those with an experienced practice. Together we will explore acceptance and learn to trust the process!

Our experienced Facilitators will guide you through a life-changing experience as you explore and transform your relationship with food, physical activity, and self-care.

Yoga clases 
Every day you will benefit from three yoga classes from Monday to Thursday (Pranayama class, Hatha class in the morning and Restorative/Yin yoga classes in the early evening). On Friday morning you will have Pranayama class and Hatha class.  All the classes are specially designed to support the elimination of toxins and to help you to feel deeply relaxed.

Meditation and Mindful Eating classes

Every day from Monday to Thursday you will benefit from two meditation classes (mindfullness and mindful eating). At CASARA WAY (Wellness And Yoga) we offer a variety of meditation classes designed to help students become more mindful, connected and self-aware. They are aimed at both beginners and experienced students. We will explore informal and formal mindfulness practices focusing on the breath, thoughts and emotions, meditations of loving kindness and self-compassion, as well as other practices designed to deepen your connection to your body, breath and heart. The classes are designed to increase awareness, ultimately strengthening the relationship we have with ourselves and with others.

Food 
For your five-day cleansing retreat you will benefit from a specially designed menu of organic whole foods, raw juices and smoothies, healthy snacks and detox water. 

We only use organic fruit and vegetables, so our guests will not ingest the pesticides, herbicides and antibiotic residues that the body is trying to clear out.

YOGA, MEDITATION & CLEANSE RETREAT BY THE BEACH IN SOUTHERN SPAIN.

Specialists recommend that everyone takes time out for a 5-day cleanse once or twice per year. The best times of the year to cleanse are spring and autumn.

Stress, inactivity, poor diet and many other challenges of modern life often result in the accumulation of toxins. It is essential to break the cycle of stress and dependence on saturated fats, refined sugar and carbohydrates, processed foods and general excess. In addition to breaking the cycle of craving food that undermines your health, in just five days a meditation and cleanse programme can do so much for your body and mind!

Our cleanses are very gentle; you will not feel hungry. This is not a juice, soup or extreme cleanse. We believe in having a balanced healthy diet eating a diversity of whole foods, giving our bodies all the nutrients that it needs.

During this retreat, you will receive an organic plant based menu, nutritionally dense and artfully prepared that will fuel your body and delight your senses. YOGA & HORSEBACK RIDING HOLIDAY BY THE BEACH IN ANDALUSIA.

If you love yoga and riding through beautiful scenery, galloping along deserted sandy beaches and exploring miles of sweet smelling pine forest, then we have just the holiday for you.

Our Horse Riding & Yoga Retreat includes daily Pranayama classes, Vinyasa classes in the morning, horse riding trips exploring the nearby beaches, the outskirts of the La Breña y Las Marismas del Barbate Natural Park and the beautiful countryside around Zahora.

Ride our exceptional Spanish and Hispano-Árabe horses through the most breathtaking and varied countryside that Zahora has to offer.

Horses are grounded and centred by nature. Horses will help you to focus on the here and now. They help you develop inner strength and authenticity and show you the importance of your intentions. Yoga and meditation with horses shows how important the connection is with yourself and your environment to achieve your goals. You will use respectful, non-verbal communication to create cooperation and work together as one.

You will also develop your inner attitude, inner silence, relaxation, grounding, balance, breathing techniques and body posture, building up your confidence, non-verbal communication, tenderness and clarity.

A small riding group (never more than six riders) will be accompanied at all times by two of our experienced guides.

Each day after our delicious organic breakfast or lunch, depending on the weather conditions, our guests will saddle up at our nearby stables.

You will ride out for approximately two and a half hours in the saddle. Each ride is varied and different but we will walk, trot, canter and gallops in each ride. We do not set a strict daily itinerary because we like to choose the right ride for the right day.

  • The Beach Rides, we will ride along the edge of the forest down onto the long sandy beaches of Cape Trafalgar and El Palmar. These beaches stretch for 10km, giving plenty of room to get to know your horse and let him show you what he can really do. The sightseeing is spectacular and the colourful sunsets are among the best of the whole coast. For those of you who have already ridden on a beach we need not say no more. For those that have not, then prepare to make your dreams come true.
  • Forest Rides, the stables sit on the edge of the spectacular natural park of La Breña y Las Marismas del Barbate Natural Park, consisting of pine forest, salt marshes, steep cliffs and miles of sandy beach. La Breña y Marismas del Barbate Natural Park is the second largest coastal reserve in Andalusia and is considered one of the most diverse and best-preserved parts of the Andalusian coast.

Our riding team
Our team are all passionate horse lovers with many years of experience of owning, riding and training horses. Being from this part of Spain, we know the local countryside very well, with all the folklore and traditions of Andalusia, a place full of the living heritage of the Spanish horse. We will do our utmost to give you a holiday that you will always remember with special affection.

Our horses
We have 10 horses, who are all very fit, healthy, very well cared for and well schooled. Each horse has a different personality and we will always try to match each rider with the right horse. Our horses are 150cm/59inches tall and will carry you with confidence and sure-footedness through the undulating Andalusian terrain.

Do you need to bring a riding hat?
We strongly recommend that you do; however helmets are provided.
Youcan ride without a helmet but your insurance must clearly state that you are covered to do so.

Do we have limits on age?
We do not have an upper age limit, as long as you are fit and healthy and can ride for 2 ½ hours a day. Unfortunately we do not have horses for children. We can take teenagers if they know how to ride.

What level of rider should you be?
Our rides are for intermediate riders. You should be comfortable at walking and trotting in open spaces for 2 ½ hours a day. We will walk, trot, canter and gallops in each ride.
The horses are 150cm/59inches tall and riders need to weigh less than 90 kilos/198 pounds.

What do you need to bring with you?
We recommend you wear riding breeches and boots on your riding holiday.

YOGA & ADVENTURE HOLIDAY TO EXPLORE THE COASTLINE OF SOUTHERN SPAIN. 

This retreat is an adventure that will give you thrilling moments and exciting memories to last a lifetime. Our Adventure & Yoga Retreat includes daily Pranayama classes, Ashtanga classes in the morning, exciting activities in the beautiful settings of Cadiz (kayaking, stand-up paddle, horse riding, hiking, cycling), restorative yin yoga classes in the early evening, evening workshops and three delicious vegetarian meals per day.

Each activity is varied and different; we do not set a strict daily itinerary because we like to choose the right activity for the right day. Each activity will take around two and a half hours.

Horse riding day.
Our stables sits on the edge of the spectacular natural park of La Breña y Las Marismas del Barbate Natural Park, which consists of forest, salt marshes, steep cliffs and miles of sandy beach. La Breña y Marismas del Barbate Natural Park is the second largest coastal reserve in Andalusia and a major attraction for equestrian lovers. We will ride along the edge of the forest and down onto the long sandy beaches of Cape Trafalgar.

SUP day (Stand-up paddle).
The district of Caños de Meca is dotted with quiet and clean beaches whose shores are gently touched by green and blue waters. Beautiful small bays are hidden all along the coast from Cape Trafalgar to La Breña y Las Marismas del Barbate Natural Park. The best way to enjoy these waters and reach these remote beaches is by taking to a kayak or SUP board.

Kayaking day.
ElPalmar is an endless stretch of white sand beach that goes on as far as the eye can see. There are no high-rise concrete hotel blocks. The blue and limpid waters, fine sand, chilled out environment and great surf conditions have made it the most celebrated beach in all of southern Spain for kayakers.

Hiking day in the countryside.
The rolling hills of the countryside offer fantastic views to walkers, as we hike over ancient drovers’ roads and cattle tracks. We will pass old monasteries and walk through the sleepy Andalusian hamlet of San Ambrosia, which has remained untouched for centuries. According to archaeological sites found so far, the hermitage of San Ambrosio dates back to Roman times. We will also visit El Palomar de la Brena, the largest dovecote in the world.

Cycling day.
Each cycling day will be varied and different, as we like to choose the right ride for the right group. One trip includes a ride to the fishing town of Bolonia, famous for its giant 30-metre-high sand dune and its 4km long beach. With Roman ruins and grazing cattle nearby, this secluded beach is stunningly beautiful. On the sunniest days, you can even see the African coast.

A small adventure group (never more than six people) will be accompanied at all times by our experienced guides.
There could not be a better way to experience all that Cadiz’s magnificent nature & culture have to offer!

YOGA & SURF HOLIDAYS ON THE CADIZ COAST, STAYING RIGHT BY THE BEACH.

Yoga may be the main course but CASARA WAY (Wellness And Yoga) is also located in southern Spain’s most celebrated surfing destination. So why not combine the two?

Our Surf & Yoga Retreat combines daily Pranayama classes and Ashtanga classes in the morning, with surf lessons, walking tours in the beautiful settings of Zahora, Restorative/Yin yoga classes in the early evening, evening workshops and three delicious vegetarian meals per day.

Each day from Monday to Thursday after our delicious organic breakfast or lunch, depending on the tides and weather conditions, we will make the way to the beach. We will surf either at Zahora beach, just 50 metres from CASARA WAY or at El Palmar beach, 4 km from CASARA WAY.

Practising yoga is not about perfecting difficult postures; it is about developing the ability to know your body, become more flexible and to be fully present in every moment. Anyone who has experienced both yoga and surfing does not take long to realise that they share common threads, both physically and spiritually. Surfing is a connection to nature that can be both exhilarating and humbling. When you are surfing, you are out in the fresh air, sunshine and water, challenging yourself, increasing your confidence, mental clarity and general well-being. There is nothing quite like the feeling of riding a wave.

The retreat does not just combine surfing and yoga because of the amazing surfing conditions in Costa de la Luz (Zahora beach and El Palmar Beach), but because each activity is the perfect complement to the other. Both surfing and yoga build strength, flexibility, focus and endurance. Both can be spiritual and meditative, and both definitely make you feel fully alive in the moment. Surfing is, in many ways, yoga on the water.

Your morning yoga class is a perfect pre-surf warm-up, getting you ready to paddle out and pop up on your board, invigorated and prepared for what is next. The gentle yin yoga evening class will help you stretch your muscles out to avoid neck, shoulder, and back stiffness and help you recover from your day on the water.

Beginners are welcome on the retreat. Whether you are new to surfing or are an experienced surfer looking to take it to the next level, there is a spot for you. The instructors will tailor their lessons to each student, ensuring a safe and fun time for all. The surf classes consist in sessions of three hours. We work with small groups (max six students) to guarantee maximum progression and the personal attention of our surf instructors.

The surf courses are suitable for all ages. You do not have to be a great sportsperson to take your first steps on the board.

Professional surf school
To get the best surf experience, CASARA WAY believes in lessons that fit your personal needs and wishes. We will make sure that all the guests get exactly the customized attention they are looking for. Our staff have years of surf teaching experience and have all the important local knowledge to provide the best possible surf courses on the Costa de la Luz.

  • Each lesson lasts about three hours, with a minimum two hours in the sea

El Palmar is an endless stretch of white sand beach that goes on as far as the eye can see. The blue, limpid, warm waters, the fine sand, chilled out environment and great surf conditions have helped make it the most famous beach for surfers in all southern Spain. El Palmar beach is perfect for beginners and advanced surfers. The long sand beach provides plenty of space and the surf consists of small to medium waves, which are easy to enter and near the shore. Come and try this exciting water sport while enjoying one of the most beautiful coastlines of all Spain.
